I’m still trying to understand what happened in France. But we hear the concerns. I made it my personal goal to prevent abusers of Telegram’s platform from interfering with the future of our 950+ million users.

The Telegram guy was released on bail, but he’s not allowed to leave France.
France is a democracy, and that means they need to have total control of information so they can control people’s thoughts. Our Democracy simply cannot work if the government does not have the ability to control everyone’s thoughts. The whole thing will just fall apart.
They want more censorship. Telegram is already far from being a “free” platform, but it needs to really get shut down hard in order to protect the sanctity of the most sacred thing ever: democracy.
This arrest is a warning to everyone: the government will not only charge your company with crimes, they will arrest you personally, and destroy you. You must censor everything, or democracy will crush you like an insect.
The founder of the Telegram messaging app, Pavel Durov, under investigation in France, has said that French authorities should have approached his company with their complaints rather than detaining him, calling the arrest “misguided”.
Durov, writing on his Telegram channel early on Friday in his first public comments since his detention last month, denied any suggestion the app was an “anarchic paradise”.
The Russian-born multi-billionaire said the investigation into the app was surprising in that French authorities had access to a “hot line” he had helped set up and they could have contacted Telegram’s EU representative at any time.
“If a country is unhappy with an internet service, the established practice is to start a legal action against the service itself,” he wrote.
“Using laws from the pre-smartphone era to charge a CEO with crimes committed by third parties on the platform he manages is a misguided approach.”
Durov was on the Tucker Carlson show a few weeks ago, and he talked about how every time he goes to the US, he is swarmed by the FBI. He said last time he brought his programmer, and the FBI tried to recruit the programmer behind his back.
🚨 PAVEL DUROV: THE U.S. WANTED TO CONTROL TELEGRAM BETTER
“We get too much attention from the FBI and other security agencies whenever we come to the U.S.
The last time I was in the U.S., I brought an engineer who works for Telegram.

Probably, the France arrest is on the orders of the US.
The US doesn’t like to do things like arrest people for free speech, because they have this whole gay branding that they somehow support free speech. This is complete bullshit.
But all of these European countries are the little bitch errand boys of Uncle Sam, so they will just arrest whoever the State Department tells them to arrest.
It looks like Durov is going to make a deal, and then there will be a lot more censorship on Telegram. I don’t know what other possible outcome there could be here.
