The EU’s “freedom to work” program has resulted in over one million Poles relocating to the UK.
While the Western European governments are demanding that the UK figure out how to leave the EU as quickly as possible, Poland has come out to let them know that there is no rush.
RT:
Poland wants to hold an alternative meeting of EU foreign ministers who weren’t invited to a hastily arranged gathering, which on Saturday urged the UK to leave as soon as possible to avoid damaging the Union any further, Polish media report.
The invitations to the foreign ministers’ meeting, which is to take shape of a “working lunch”, were sent out over the weekend to the European embassies, according to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. The meeting will be hosted by Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski, who apparently did not invite the six founding members of the EU.
“We must decide how the EU will function in this [Brexit] situation, which negotiations model with Britain should be selected,” Waszczykowski told the paper. “We believe that there is no reason to hurry. As long as the United Kingdom remains in the EU, we will treat it as a full member of the Union.”
When asked about the possibility of foreign ministers’ attendance on Monday in Warsaw, government spokesman Rafał Bochenek told Polskie Radio, that “it is difficult to expect that all the ministers,” will manage to free their schedules to meet in Poland.
…
Bochenek said all member states have the same weight in the decision-making process, asserting that “the entire organization should take into account the interests of its members,” without jeopardizing the “strong foundations” of the union and its “recognized values.”
Poland and the rest of the poor Eastern European countries have a vested interest in Britain staying in the EU as long as possible, as they are benefiting massively from the UK’s economy.
Along with the massive welfare subsidies that Poland receives from the EU – Britain being a main funder of these subsidies – they also subsidize their economy by sending people to work in Britain and send the money back to Poland.
What’s more, they wish to use the military resources of the UK as part of their aggressive moves against Russia.
Upon hearing of the Brexit, Vladimir Putin cited the lack of a desire to prop-up poor economies in Eastern Europe as one of the main driving factors of the Brexit Leave vote. He also cited mass immigration, which is of course a much bigger issue, but nonetheless, the financial arrangement was horrible for the UK.
Please note that I have nothing against Poland or the Poles, I am merely stating the objective fact that the EU created a situation where the UK was heavily subsidizing the economies of Eastern Europe while gaining absolutely nothing in return.
Force-meshing these two societies has proved incredibly difficult.
It is simply an objective reality that you cannot easily mesh the economies of a poor country and a wealthy country. At least not at the rapid rate the EU has attempted to do this.
I do believe that visa-free travel within Europe is fine, on the whole, however, as long as there is such a wide gap between the average income in Eastern Europe and that in Western Europe, people should have to apply for permits to work.
The reality is that this attempt to rapidly abolish national identity in Europe has resulted in increased tensions between ethnicities – not increased cooperation or camaraderie.
Before the EU, you didn’t have anti-Polish graffiti in London.
I support all White nations and all White people, and we certainly need to cooperate with one another. However, full economic integration of Eastern and Western Europe was a completely insane idea, intended by the EU Jews to prepare Europe for the brown flood we are now experiencing.
