In the unabashed chutzpah department of world news we have today Michael Schudrich, Chief Rabbi of Poland’s 30,000 strong Jewish community. Here he answers a few loaded questions from World Israel News.
A little background: Poland recently passed a democratic law within their sovereign borders forbidding anyone from assigning blame to Poles for “Nazi attributed crimes” and banned the specific use of “Polish death camps” in the reporting of that era of history. In effect, the Poles are giving the Jews a taste of their own medicine since Jews have pushed Holocaust denial laws in much of Europe.
Jewish and Israeli leaders as well as historians and Holocaust survivors have railed against the Polish law, insisting that many thousands of Poles murdered Jews during the Holocaust, without being forced to do so by the Nazi occupiers. They did so because of self-interest and deep-seated anti-Semitism.
Anyone that harkens back to their school days will likely recall how in history class we were taught that not much can be asserted with great certainty when it comes to historical matters. We have also been taught, by philosemite Winston Churchill no less, that “history is written by the victors”. How, then, can Jews make such incredible claims with such certainty and expect the goy to swallow it unquestioningly? A reasonable person would conclude that Jews are trying to blame “many thousands of Poles” for “Holocaust” “crimes” so that they have another country they can bleed dry with demands for reparations.
WIN: IS THERE A FEELING OF GROWING ANTI SEMITISM IN POLAND AS A RESULT OF THE DIPLOMATIC CRISIS?
RABBI SCHUDRICH: There is no growing anti-Semitism in the sense of Jews being attacked on the streets of Poland. There is a marked increase in anti-Jewish hate speech on internet blogs and on Facebook. Polish Jewry faced almost no anti-Semitism over the past 30 years, so this outbreak is troubling. What is also troubling is that there has not been a strong response from the Polish leadership. The community has received a few dozen nasty emails, which is really not so much. Interestingly, I’ve only received positive emails – the type where people say, “We’re with you.”
Translation: “Based on our devious, sneaky behaviour and our abortive social media attempt* to shame Poles there has been an increase of “Goyim knowing” and we find this unacceptable”

It’s unintentionally hilarious in its hyperbole.
WIN: WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST AS A WAY TO LOWERING TENSIONS?
RABBI SCHUDRICH: A key to an understanding is that each side tries feeling the pain of the other. At the same time, all must resist and reject revisionist efforts to change Holocaust history. It is painful for the Poles to be blamed for things they did not do. We must be careful not to overemphasize the Polish role in the murder of Jews. Some Israeli politicians have clearly exaggerated the Polish people’s role, and that is damaging. (The Rabbi declined to name the Israeli politicians he was referring to, but to this writer it seemed apparent that he was referring to comments made by Knesset member and Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid.)
Jewish doublethink: “There’s nothing worse than being blamed for something you didn’t do, we understand that. No one should be blamed for the deaths of millions of Jews. We must strike a balance between pointing out the Polish role in the murder of Jews but somehow not overemphasising it”
It reminds me of the gotcha question: “Have you stopped beating your wife?”
WIN: SHOULD THE MARCH OF THE LIVING BE CANCELLED TO PUNISH POLAND?
Translation: “Should we punish Poland by not having a boring march no one really cares about to commemorate the oven dodgers?” Yes, that’ll show Poland! After all, many parents punish their children by not letting them eat vegetables for dinner.
Finally, this disturbing revelation:
WIN: WHAT HAS BEEN THE ROLE OF POLISH PRESIDENT ANDRZEJ DUDA IN THIS REGARD?
RABBI SCHUDRICH: He has been very much involved, especially in seeking a solution. He recently visited the Jewish Community Center, where he had a private conversation with 15 community leaders. His message is, “There is a place here for Jews and we want you to stay.” He expressed concerns about what happened. We told him our concerns, and he listened to our comments. He seemed to be sincere in seeking solutions to what the government can do to make the Jewish citizens feel more comfortable. He also declared that anti-Semitism will not be tolerated. At least Polish leaders are listening, and that gives me hope.
So the democratic leader of 37 million Poles met in private with 15 unelected self-appointed community leaders of 30,000 to determine what can be done to circumvent democracy and plot a course that serves their ethnic interests.
The whole article is worth reading just to give a normal person an insight into the unfathomable, oriental mind of the common Jew that transcends borders and continents. A common theme on this blog is how often and readily they are willing to sell out their host nation if the net outcome helps them.
