A recent Twitter poll by a Saturday Night Live critique account showed 81% of respondents saying Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression is ruining the show. Obviously, Twitter polls are not scientific, but a lot of people think this guy’s schtick sucks or is at the very least played out.

Here’s their thing from last night. It’s getting a bunch of press because the IRL Stormy Daniels was on it as herself and I guess… she’s hard to book? Is she hard to book? She’s doing a strip club tour, right?

Anyway.

Not good.

Not good at all.

Except that Ben Stiller actually does look exactly like Michael Cohen because Jews are so inbred that they only have like four face types total.

And that is kinda funny.

But Baldwin’s Trump thing, just on the aesthetic level, just isn’t very good.

That guy who did Trump on the Comedy Central fake debate thingy during the primaries was much better.

I don’t even know who that guy is, but he gets the impression right. It really shouldn’t be that hard.

I think it’s just that Baldwin for one is not very talented and for another hates Trump so much that he has no ability to understand his motivation or who he is and thus can’t even get in the mood of acting like him.

Anyhow.

That poll came after comedian Rob Schneider, who you may know from the movie “Duce Bigalow” and who is I think only a quarter Jewish and who sometimes says sort of right-wingy things, said the character was boring because the show was always so aggressively against Trump that every sketch was predictable.

He clarified that he didn’t actually say “ruining the show” after people had interpreted earlier comments that way.

So he’s basically just saying that comedy in general has gotten super boring because it is all so politicized.

Which is a critique better men than he have made, but which is obviously considered politically incorrect to make, because it is not politically correct to ever say “this is too politically correct.”

I can’t imagine watching any mainstream comedy show in current year.

Other than Eastbound and Down (and of course the brief run of our friend Sam Hyde on Adult Swim), there hasn’t been any funny stuff since the mid-aughts… and then only on Adult Swim.

There is so much funny content to consume in the actual Alt-Right that I haven’t even really thought about the lack of any funny content to consume in the mainstream in a long time. But wow if you do sit and think about it wow.

I mean, just from a totally apolitical stance here people: what was the last funny mainstream thing you saw?

Can you even remember?
