When will people learn that apologizing doesn’t help?

The Sun:

A popular video game streamer has been caught on camera screaming the words “f****** n*****” at a digital representation of the Manchester United star Eric Bailly.

The high profile Canadian gamer, who goes under the name Nick28T, was being filmed playing FIFA 17 when the shocking outburst took place.

In a video streamed live on the website Twitch, the father of two shouted the appalling racial slur because Bailly’s character failed to clear the ball from the box.

“Get it out you f****** n*****,” he yelled before his opponent scored against him.

The gamer quickly realised what he said and tried to pretend he had actually used the word “nincompoop”, but the damage was done.

“Oh my god,” he screamed after yelling the racist term.

“Nincompoop dude. Nincompoop.”

Nick28T has now been banned from Twitch for seven days and has been at the centre of a social media firestorm.

The games streamer has now issued a grovelling apology to his 271,000 Twitter followers, insisting he did not intend to yell the vile racist slur.

Apologies are just blood in the water, Nick.

We all know that everyone uses racial terms in video games. I don’t even play games that much and I know that.

The option he should have taken is: “look, I don’t hate black people – this is just how guys talk when they play games. We are all sick of this political correctness.”

Or, conversely, he could have said: “yes, I hate niggers, and I am sick of pretending otherwise. WHITE POWER 1488 GTKRWN.”

Anything is better than an apology. It accomplishes absolutely nothing.
