The music trailing from a tiny apartment Sunday night is a song Dylan Golvach and George Baba wish they didn’t have to play for their long time band member and brother, Spencer Golvach.
Spencer was the bassist for Houston’s popular Indie rock band, the Dead Revolt. Saturday morning, he was tragically killed while stopped at a red light at 18th and Mangum.
“He was kind of like my musical soulmate,” said Baba.
“He was the best brother I could have asked for,” said Dylan.
They’ll play it at Spencer’s funeral.
“There’s been a talent that’s been stolen from the world,” said Golvach.
“To be honest with you, it’s been hell,” said Dylan.
Less than an hour after Spencer’s murder, a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed Victor Manuel Reyes after he refused to put down his gun after another drive-by shooting. He’s the same man Houston police say may be responsible for Spencer’s cold blooded killing.
