The American government has been trying to develop a space warfare branch of the military for quite some time now.
The things mentioned in this video were the potential for suicide crashing spacecraft into other objects in space to destroy them and kinetic orbital strikes.
If you don’t know what a kinetic orbital strike is, it’s essentially a giant railgun in space shooting spikes made out of highly dense material (probably tungsten).
The way it works is you fire the spike from low-orbit and it will pick up velocity as it travels through the atmosphere, eventually landing on the target area and creating a massive shockwave explosion which could potentially carry more energy than most (if not all) other non-nuclear weapons which could reasonably be used from a space platform.
One of the main reasons we won’t simply see nukes from orbit is there is actually a Cold War-era treaty banning the usage of WMD launched from space. Ultimately kinetic strikes will likely be much more dangerous since you could potentially launch several in just a few minutes and it is incredibly difficult to track and shoot down a one foot wide rod traveling at mach 10 speeds.
I wonder why the only two countries seeming to support this are the US and Israel?
