I have been bothered as you about the lack of Antisemitism coming out of the Russian government.  However, I have withheld judgment, leaving open the possibility that while Putin is consolidating his control, he has purposefully avoided taking on the Jewish question directly.

Last week, a member of Putin’s ruling United Russia party, a local politician, openly accused the Jews of destroying Russia. Let us hope that this is a sign of things to come.

From the Jerusalem Post:

The accusation by Oleg Bolychev, a legislator from the ruling United Russia party at the regional parliament in Kaliningrad, was made in the parliament on Feb. 6, according to the Regnum news agency, which reported on it on Thursday.

During a debate, Bolychev called his detractors “Jews, mired in opposition,” adding: “You destroyed our country in 1917 and you destroyed our country in 1991.”

The Russian Jewish Congress condemned the lawmaker, saying it was indignant over the statement and calling on authorities to investigate it.

Other members of the party condemned the statements, but Putin has said nothing on the matter, and presumably won’t.

Clearly, Putin is not unaware of the Jewish antagonism toward his revolutionary agenda of reestablishing a traditional Russian identity based on a functioning social order, and using that as the basis of a new Russian Empire. Presumably, he simply does not see the benefit, as of yet, of directly confronting them. But nor does he seem to see much benefit in directly assisting them, unless that assistance benefits him.

He is not only standing against the Jewish queer and otherwise degenerate sexual agenda on the international level – he is rebuilding churches destroyed by Jews, he is restructuring the Russian economy in a way that punishes rich Jews, he is thwarting Jewish war plans, he is facing off against the Jews for financial and social control of Eastern Europe – in other words, he is doing more than any relevant politician has done in a very long time.

I don’t think we should view him as a hero. But in my estimation, he is doing a lot more good than bad.
