Why would you ever think to rob a convent? And then if you failed to rob it, why would you set it on fire?
This “robbery gone wrong” meme is so dumb.
A would-be burglar who set a convent fire that left a Staten Island nun with a broken back pleaded guilty on Wednesday and faces 10 years in prison.
Vincent Calder, 20, admitted lighting the fire at St. Joseph Hill Academy in Arrochar at 5 a.m. on Oct. 12, 2013. He pleaded guilty to second-degree arson.
Investigators said Calder and two other men broke into the residence after smoking pot and drinking beer.
The other men pleaded guilty to burglary, but only Calder was responsible for the arson, according to Staten Island DA Dan Donovan.
Sister Regina Gegic, of the Daughters of Divine Charity, broke her back after jumping out a second-story window to escape. She has since recovered.
