Scott Hunter was visiting the Kentucky Derby when he was killed by a roving band of primates.

Three people were arrested in connection with a string of Friday and Saturday robberies and the shooting death of a Kentucky Derby visitor from Canada Saturday night, a police official said.

Lt. Todd Kessinger said the three — Tyrone Thomas, Fatima Abu-diab and Fahed Abu-diab — were charged with murder and nine robberies over a several mile stretch of downtown Louisville. All three were Louisville residents.

“They were targeting people who were walking on the streets or through parking lots,” Kessinger said during a Monday news briefing at Louisville Metro Police Department headquarters.

The shooting victim and his friend, both visitors from Toronto, Canada, were confronted as they walked toward their hotel on the 700 block of Phillips Lane after the Kentucky Derby.
