Russia Increases Defense Spending Again, Solidifies Total War Economy

This is technically more than the USSR was spending, as a percent of the total government budget. Which is a sort of incredible fact. That said, the USSR’s government budget was a larger portion of the national GDP than it is in the modern Russian Federation. So it would be difficult math to do (especially with inflation and currency exchanges and whatnot, also especially because those USSR budget records are not available).

It seems unlikely that this is actually a bigger total military budget than the USSR had, but that might actually be the case.

The Guardian:

Russia is to increase its spending on defence by 25% to its highest on record, as Vladimir Putin vows to continue his war efforts in Ukraine and further escalate his standoff with the west.

The latest planned increase in spending will take Russia’s defence budget to a record 13.5tn rubles (£109bn) in 2025, according to draft budget documents published on Monday on the parliament’s website. That is about 3tn rubles more than was set aside for defence this year, which was the previous record.

Taken together, spending on defence and security will account for about 40% of Russia’s total government spending – or 41.5tn rubles in 2025.

The 2025 budget suggests Putin has embraced what economists have dubbed “military Keynesianism”, marked by a significant rise in military spending, which has fuelled the war in Ukraine, spurred a consumer spending boom and driven up inflation.

“This increase is confirmation the economy has switched to a war footing, and, even if the war in Ukraine ends soon, channeling money to the army and a bloated defence sector will remain a top priority,” the Bell, a leading Russian outlet specialising on the economy, wrote in its newsletter.

The massive Russian investment in the military has worried European war planners, who have said Nato underestimated Russia’s ability to sustain a long-term war. Meanwhile, Ukraine is facing uncertainty over the level of future support from its closest allies.

This has increased confidence in Moscow, where on Monday Putin boasted that “all goals set” in what Russia calls its special military operation “will be achieved”.

The Russian economy is still doing pretty great. I can’t speak to what is going on in remote villages, but those have been rough (or quaint, depending on your perspective) for a thousand years. In Moscow and every other city with over 100,000 people, everything is fine and better than it was before the war. Frankly, I don’t exactly understand why this is the case, other than that the relationship with China – which still hadn’t been totally repaired – is much better now. Whatever the reason though, the Russian people are doing quite fine, and the military is giving a lot of young men (many from the aforementioned difficult/quaint villages) enough money to buy an apartment and have kids.

Further, they’re winning the war pretty hard, as for some reason no one has explained the kholhol pigs let the frontline collapse so they could go on an adventure tour in Kursk. I know everyone has been saying it for years now, but eventually the frontlines are going to collapse and it’s going to be a clear march to the river.

In the wake of the Beirut Purge, the hope that non-Jews have is Iran presents a significant enough problem for the Jewnited Snakes that Russia is able to solve their problems on the Eastern European front.

And hopefully China invades Manila too.

Just joking. China isn’t going to do that, they are much too friendly and confrontation-averse. Further, Filipinos are friendly and the population never wanted this retarded war with the Chinese, so I wouldn’t want to see them getting bombed. I do, however, think a few Filipino boats need to be sunk at some point. If they don’t back off – which they would do as soon as they thought the US wasn’t going to protect them.

What did 2 Pac say?

“Back the fuck up before you get smacked the fuck up”?

Russia is Serious

Iran just got their number one proxy obliterated inside of a few days and they’re begging “international people” to make the Jews follow the rules. This makes them look totally unserious.

Putin is a serious person. He invaded the Ukraine and he is threatening to nuke America.

The United States has done a horrible job with this Ukraine debacle. Frankly, they should have asked Bibi to plan it.
