“Scotland Isn’t Ready for a Brown Moslem Paki”

The GlasgowMSP has declined to name the individual.

He told the paper that he had approached the senior councillor during last year’s leadership contest, asking him for an endorsement.

Sarwar said: “A leader of a Labour council group told me very clearly the reason that he couldn’t support me in the leadership election was that, in his words, Scotland wasn’t ready for a ‘brown, Muslim, Paki’.

“When I challenged him on that, saying it was a racist, Islamophobic comment, he said that wasn’t his opinion, it was his fear about what his constituents believe.

Sarwar lost the election for Scottish Labour leader last year to an unknown Englishman. Not long ago, the idea of an Englishman being leader of the Scottish Labour party would have seemed about as likely as a negro being elected leader of the Ku Klux Klan. But faced with the threat of a “brown Muslim Paki”, historic intra-European rivalries were set aside.

In this video clip, Sarwar shows us why it is in fact entirely rational and moral to be prejudiced against people like him. It’s a safe bet that whenever these people achieve any kind of power, they will use it to advance their tribal/religious interests. In practice, that means suppressing your freedom, pathologising your natural defensive instincts and instituting racial/religious privilege for themselves.

By artfully playing the victim card here, Sarwar is preparing the ground for his next attempt at the leadership.
