Peters was shot several times inside his home on Jan. 27. Deputies confirmed there was a conversation between Peters and a suspect at the front door of the home. Then there was a struggle when Peters tried to close the door. Authorities said several shots were then fired through the front door. Peters was rushed to a nearby hospital where he passed away.
