“Don’t you know, we’re all equal? Also, what year is this? Where am I? Somebody turn the heat up!”
It’s sad to see an old man who’s now so senile he can’t even function like a normal human being.
It’s cruel to expose such a man to the media and allow him to humiliate himself like this, when he doesn’t have his mind intact.
The best thing to do is allow a man like that to live out his last days peacefully and with dignity.
Former President Jimmy Carter has made it his mission — probably his last great mission — to close the chasm between the races in his own beloved Baptist church. His endeavor is undertaken at the age of 91, his brain cancer in remission. It deserves widespread attention and support. If successful, it will be a model for our wider society.
The 2002 Nobel Peace Prize winner seems to know that ending racism is an uphill battle. Moreover, Hannah McMahan, executive director of the New Baptist Covenant, said she has gained an understanding as to “how deep the divides are,” and “that [results of] this kind of work will not happen overnight.”
Mr. Carter also understands the Black Lives Matter movement is not saying others’ lives are less important. Not at all. As Mr. Carter said, “White people need to understand the special discrimination that still exists against our black neighbors.”
Maybe ending racism is an “uphill battle” because race is a biological reality? Maybe blacks face a “special discrimination” because they’re dumb savages? Carter wouldn’t know anything about that, because he’s spent his whole life sheltered from those basic realities. It’s easy to be tolerant when you live a a gated community or on a farm.
This is a tolerant and progressive community. No blacks allowed.
But all these establishment anti-racist figures are having less and less effect on the public consciousness. They have no argument, and their memes are stale and boring. While these senile goofballs mouth platitudes about tolerance, Hajis are blowing up our stuff, blacks are raping our women and Mexicans are taking over half the country with their drug cartels and illegal immigration.
Reality will trump sentiment when that reality is in-your-face obvious.
