The installation of Somalia’s first ATM showcases the innovative nature of the Somali people.

In what has been declared as a big step forward by a Somali bank official, the first-ever ATM was just installed in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.  One has to be very impressed with the advances currently showcased by Somalia’s technology companies.

VOA News:

Somalia’s first-ever cash withdrawal machine has been installed in the capital, Mogadishu.

The Mogadishu-based Salaam Somali Bank installed the machine in a hotel used by diaspora, foreigners and government officials.

Bank official Moalim Abukar told VOA Somali Service the machine will allow customers to withdraw money from their foreign accounts.

Abukar said that the installation of the ATM was “a big step forward” and it represents the growth and strength of Mogadishu’s business community.

With this type of rapid technological innovation, we will soon see Somalis produce nuclear fusion technologies, learn to time travel and cure Ebola within the next decade. There is little question that Mogadishu will soon be the world’s largest and most important technology hub.
