Soros Calls for Social Media Shutdown to Prevent Free Thought

I have from the beginning said that “democracy” in a country with a centralized media apparatus is a nonsensical concept, as you are expecting people to make decisions based on a centrally regulated pool of information.

Well, in calling for a shutdown of the ability of individuals not approved by the establishment to spread information, George Soros is effectively saying exactly that.

Breitbart:

Billionaire open-borders activist George Soros has demanded the European Union (EU) regulate social media because voters’ minds are being controlled and “manipulated”.

He claimed the size of social media firms made them a “public menace” and argued they had led people to vote against globalist causes, including electing President Donald J. Trump, in an article for The Guardian published Thursday.

The speculator, who runs one of the largest campaigning groups in the world and is noted for his interference in foreign politics and elections, said ultimately unregulated social media threatened democracy and the “integrity of elections”.

New media websites and populist groups have been prolific on social media, using the platforms to surpass mainstream media and promote causes Mr. Soros and his allies oppose.

To be clear, I think that universal suffrage democracy is stupid for a whole litany of reasons.

But the most obvious is the inability of people to choose what information they have access to, which destroys their ability to make any decisions outside of the worldview that is being sold to them.

George Soros is literally saying here “we cannot allow non-Jews to spread information, because it will lead to outcomes which Jews do not want.”
