UPDATE:

Okay so I joked below that it must have been a Desert Eagle, but actually it isn’t really a joke because there really aren’t a lot of .50 handguns made.

This does make it slightly funnier than if it was a revolver.

Washington Post:

Ruiz held the book to his chest and Perez held the gun, a gold Desert Eagle .50-caliber pistol considered “one of the most powerful semiautomatic handguns in the world.”

“One of” – I’m not aware of any handgun more powerful than this, at least not one that is widely sold. The recoil on this is already so extreme that it’s completely pointless to try and use it for any practical purpose. It’s a novelty. It’s cool in video games, but in real life, the only practical use is if you’re in the woods of Alaska where you may get attacked by a grizzly bear.

The gun retails for $2,167, so I have no idea why this kid had one to begin with.

Presumably, it had to have been stolen, but from whence does one steal such a gun? People are keeping them in their glove boxes.

Also, a slight correction – the gun was initially designed in America, then was further developed and manufactured by the Jews, then came back to America.

Wikipedia:

The IMI Desert Eagle is a semi-automatic handgun notable for chambering the largest centerfire cartridge of any magazine fed, self-loading pistol. It has a unique design with a triangular barrel and large muzzle. Magnum Research Inc. (MRI) designed and developed the Desert Eagle. The design was refined and the actual pistols were manufactured by Israel Military Industries until 1995, when MRI shifted the manufacturing contract to Saco Defense in Saco, Maine. In 1998, MRI moved manufacturing back to IMI, which later reorganized under the name Israel Weapon Industries. Since 2009, the Desert Eagle Pistol has been produced in the United States at MRI’s Pillager, Minnesota facility. Kahr Arms acquired Magnum Research in the middle of 2010.

So yeah, not all Jews. But I mean, who cares? It’s a joke gun. I guess it’s “badass,” maybe, but really it’s just sort of goofy.

It’s the firearms equivilent of this:

Something which I would also assume the Jews are behind.

Even the Wikipedia page admits that basically its only real purpose is as a collector’s item.

The commercial success of the pistol is due in part to its use in motion pictures, according to Magnum Research chairman and CEO John Risdall. According to a 1994 newspaper article, the company actively solicited prop houses to use the gun. By 1999 it had been used in over 40 films, including Eraser, Red Heat, Last Action Hero, Rambo III, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man, Assassins, The Last Boy Scout, Double Impact, Matrix and Austin Powers.

Original article follows.

Wow, what an edgy, modern way for a Mexican to die.

Maybe they are assimilating?

RT:

A 19-year-old Minnesota woman has been charged with second-degree manslaughter after she fatally shot her 22-year-old boyfriend in a YouTube stunt gone very wrong.

Monalisa Perez was charged with the killing of Pedro Ruiz III on Wednesday, two days after she shot her boyfriend in the chest at close range outside their home in northwest Minnesota.

Perez, who is heavily pregnant with the couple’s second child, was released from jail on Wednesday afternoon after posting $7,000 bail, the Star Tribune reports.

Police received a call from Perez on Monday to say she accidentally shot her boyfriend in the chest with a .50 caliber pistol while making a YouTube video, according to Norman County court documents.

HAHAHAHAHA!

.50 CALIBER!

WAS IT A DESERT EAGLE???

WHO EVEN HAS A .50 CALIBER HANDGUN, OTHER THAN A COLLECTOR???

For non-Anglos, this is about 13mm diameter.

For non-Americans, who probably don’t know very much about handguns, this is a very large bullet.

Standard handgun is 9mm. That’s police issue, and the most widely carried by normal people as well.

A Desert Eagle is an Israeli-made semi-automatic handgun – one of the biggest made.

The one used in this video was more than likely a revolver, however. I can’t imagine they had a .50 semi-auto.

Whatever the case, it would have put a massive hole in this kid and gone all the way through him, after having gone through the book.

“Perez reported that Pedro Ruiz III wanted to make a YouTube video of her shooting a book and he believed that the book would stop the bullet. Monalisa Perez pointed out cameras and stated that the entire incident was recorded,” read the police statement.

This is like “sex with a virgin cures AIDS”-tier logic.

Perez told officers her boyfriend had been urging her to partake in the video for a while, and showed her a different book that he had shot in which the bullet hadn’t gone all the way through to convince her.

Did he shoot it with a different gun?

I guess it’s possible from a certain range that a .50 caliber wouldn’t go through an encyclopedia… I don’t know though. I’m not really a gun expert, I’m just, you know, from Ohio.

Here’s a guy tested a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum revolver through a bunch of 3,000 page medical books, and it got lodged halfway through the 3rd.

So yeah, I doubt that there is any .50 that wouldn’t go through any book at any range.

And yeah, unless it hit his spine, it would have went all the way through him too.

This is like, totally absurd.

On Monday, hours before the shooting, Perez had tweeted about the upcoming video to say she and Pedro were “probably going to shoot one of the most dangerous videos ever… HIS idea not MINE.”

Perez shot Ruiz from about a foot away while he held a hardcover encyclopedia to his chest, according to County Attorney James Brue.

Ruiz was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel. The two cameras that recorded the incident were taken into police custody as evidence and the footage will not be released publicly at this time, says Brue.

Perez has a three-year-old daughter and is expecting her second child in September, both with Ruiz. The felony charge carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.

Too bad about the video.

It would def be ultra-viral at this point, and pay for her defense against the manslaughter charges.

To be honest, I don’t really think she deserves to be charged with manslaughter for this.

I mean, it is manslaughter.

But these people are just so stupid.

I say just deport her and the kids, be done with it.

We don’t need anymore wetbacks in our prison system anyway.
