Hallelujah!

It’s that time of the year again. No, not Christmas – something with a far deeper spiritual and cultural meaning.

It’s the Steam summer sale.

Your wallets are not prepared.

The entire world having been robbed of meaning by Jews, worthless bugmen and soul-less skanks, video games are probably the only worthwhile things to spend our money on anyway.

And also, Steam is one of the few privately owned gentile entertainment companies out there, so if you’re going to be spending money on this sort of stuff, you might as well contribute to Gaben’s war chest. God knows he’ll need it, if he goes through with his plan to wipe out minorities using robots unwittingly controlled by video game players.

Basically, the plot to Uncanny Valley.

So, what’s some of the good stuff on sale this summer? Here’s the rundown.

I’ll only mention the rebate rate, rather than an absolute price, since the prices actually vary significantly from country to country. So, if you were to set your VPN to Russia or something, and pay in rubles, you’d be paying less than half the American cost – but of course, you’d never do that.

Ni No Kuni II (-40%)

This is a newer release, and one of the better Japanese RPGs I’ve played. I’m not a big fan of Japanese role-playing games in general, but this one has a fairly engaging plot – basically, you’re trying to take over the world, country by country, while building up your own kingdom.

The visuals and sounds are masterfully done, and the combat is very tight, albeit somewhat too easy. There is no POZ, per se, although the main character has somewhat goofy idealistic notions about how things should be run.

Fallout Franchise (-30-75%)

All of the games are on sale, at a very good price. Most of you are probably already familiar with the newer games, which are quite good and engaging, but some of you younger guys might not have played the original Fallout 1 and 2.

These are some of the games I had a blast playing as a kid.

2d isometric goodness.

The older games aren’t as immediately satisfying as Fallout 4, in the sense that the games are slower, more tactical and much more difficult. However, the worlds have a more hard-edged feel to them that really makes you taste the radioactive wasteland.

Fallout: New Vegas, which I haven’t played, is usually said to be in the style of these older ones too, so you might want to check that out.

Fallout 3 and 4 are good for some mindless entertainment, but don’t have the depth of the older games.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (-60%)

If you haven’t played Witcher 3 yet, now is the time. Famously created by BASED Polish developers CD Projekt Red, this is a game that’s light on POZ, heavy on story and action.

Dark Souls 3 (-75%)

Oh, damn, Dark Souls is one of my favorite series of all time, but I haven’t played the third one yet. I’ll definitely be picking this up at 75% off.

Dark atmosphere with tight, high-stakes combat and open exploration of a tightly-interconnected world – those are the core elements of the Souls games. From everything I’ve heard, Dark Souls 3 is an excellent entry in the franchise, and you can’t really go wrong with it. Make sure you have a controller though.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance (-30%)

I haven’t played this either, because I had decided to wait a few months for the game’s notorious bugs to be ironed out. Well, five patches later, and many hundreds of bugs have been removed from the game, and new features have been added.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a game that made the SJW games press go nuts a few months back, because of their uncompromising portrayal of European medieval life. In other words, an all-White, patriarchal and Christian society. Oy vey!

It’s sold very well, and is widely considered to be a great and very innovative game. I’ll be sure to pick it up.

Dirt Rally (-80%)

I actually quite enjoy realistic driving games like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. For a while now, my favorite driving game on PC has been Dirt Rally. Extremely smooth controls, highly responsive driving physics and tricky courses combine to have a pretty thrilling experience.

Even though it’s a bit older now, the visuals are still top notch. For 80% off, I recommend it to all driving game fans.

DOOM (-50%)

I’ve been burned out of first person shooters for a while now, especially the endless “Call of Duty” and “Battlefield” iterations along with their countless clones.

But DOOM really grabbed my attention. Relentless action, no stupid story, detailed levels that are a joy to explore, and a bitchin’ soundtrack. All I need to be happy for a long, long time.

So…

Is there any game on sale, which you’d recommend to other readers? Stuff with solid game play and unpozzed story lines?
