Heavy blow to #Merkel's authority as her chief whip is ousted by the parliamentary group – after 13 years in the job https://t.co/NTRWp6lI0Q

I am so sick of hearing predictions – and of making them myself, tbh – about Mama Merkel’s impending doom.
Everything seems to wash over this bitch like water off a seal’s back.
So “here’s how Merkel can go down” has become a version of the “here’s how Bernie can still win” meme.
But, you know. She does have a lot of problems. And they don’t seem to be getting any better.
This, in particular, is a very significant blow.
RT:
Longtime ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel, parliamentary leader Volker Kauder, has been send packing after a surprise vote in Germany’s Bundestag. Opposition politicians see it as a start of a new political crisis.
It’s actually the first time that Merkel’s favorite, who was in office for 13 years, was challenged by another candidate. Kauder was challenged by his own deputy, Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) member Ralph Brinkhaus, who won the vote by narrow margin. Brinkhaus was supported by 125 MPs, while 112 backed Kauder.
Brinkhaus wants a more active role of the parliamentary group in the coalition government of the CDU/CSU and Social Democratic Party (SPD). He also did his best to signal that his candidacy was not a way to challenge German Chancellor herself.
While the long-term consequences of the surprising vote remain unclear, it surely triggered a cheering storm from the opposition politicians.
Vice chairman of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) parliament group, Alexander Lambsdorff, said the ouster of Kauder might actually be a step towards the “end of the grand coalition” and surely was a huge blow to Merkel.
“The chancellor’s authority within her own party has been officially destroyed,” Lambsdorff tweeted.
Parliamentary leader of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) Alice Weidel also took to Twitter to cheer the vote, releasing a picture of herself inscribed “Merkel is on her last legs: Kauder voted out!”
“The vote clearly shows that Merkel is losing her grip on the party,” Weidel wrote.
Yeah, see.
+++ Merkel ist am Ende: Kauder abgewählt! +++
Mit dem Durchfallen Volker #Kauders bei der Wahl des Fraktionsvorsitzenden zeigt sich der Machtverlust Angela Merkels in der #CDU nun deutlich.

Sounds like “how Bernie can still win.”
Desperately latching onto anything, while the fate of the matter is already decided.
But I guess she can’t remain in power forever.
And honestly, it doesn’t really matter.
Whoever replaces her is going to be the same thing as her, perhaps even worse.
Germans simply do not have the will to put someone in who is not a total shill for globalism, as they are too filled with guilt over this fake Holocaust gibberish, having been indoctrinated with it since they were small children.
Not to be a total downer here. But it feels like any solution to Germany’s problems is going to have to come from the outside.
