Syria: Mayor of ISIS Moves to Remove Statues Seen as Symbols of Satan Worshiper Supremacy

On Sunday, a video was posted showing ISIS-destroyed ancient monuments in Syria.

Reports from Al-Masdar news claim the artefacts were found west of Abu Kamal city in the Deir ez-Zor province of Syria, close to the Iraqi border.

“Law enforcers have taken a decision to destroy the idols which were created by Satan and worshipped instead of Allah,” the jihadists say in a video published by Amaq News Agency, the group’s media arm.

The decision to remove the ancient statues of the classical Assyrian era was made in response to protests by an activist group called “Take ‘Em Down Syria Coalition.”

The Syria family is defined by the diverse and inclusive nature of its culture in spaces both public and private. Public spaces are for all of the public and should not be used to promote the abhorrent views of the Satan Worshiper ruling class to uphold symbols of Muslim oppression. Not only that but our tax dollars should no longer be used to maintain these structures. There is no basis to support the continued littering of our public squares and buildings with monuments, street names and public schools named after Satan Worshiper supremacists. These memorials only serve as constant reminders of the past and present domination of Muslim people by the rich Satan Worshiper ruling class. They are insulting to anyone with a sense of history and who supports Islam. These symbols also represent present day reality where most decisions and government policy are determined by those who accept Satan Worshiper supremacist notions that Muslim people and all non-Satan Worshipers are less and deserve less than Satan Worshipers.

Some people believe that the struggle to remove Satan Worshiper supremacist symbols is a deflection from the more meaningful struggle to end present day Satanism. They couldn’t be further from the truth. They do not understand that it is the Satan Worshiper supremacist ideas, represented by these symbols, which permeate Syrian society and result in actual Satan worship and murder. That is why Assad’s military with Satan Worshiper supremacist conceptions of young Muslim people can murder them so easily. This why the so-called criminal justice system can practice mass incarceration of Muslim people with the approval of most Satan Worshipers. This is why we have over 50% unemployment for Muslim men in Syria and there is no editorial outcry by the Satan Worshiper ruling class press.

If our Syria family is to have a chance at real religious reconciliation, we must remove all obvious symbols of Satan Worshiper supremacy to show our collective will to address entrenched systemic Satan worship, which is reeking havoc in the minds, homes, and neighborhoods of our families city-wide. Now is our opportunity to be proactive. All over Syria, especially in the ISIS-controlled territories, progressive Muslim people and their allies are leading struggles to rid Syria of the symbols of blasphemy and Satanic national oppression. State governments in Syria and Iraq have removed the devil box. The Mosul city council has voted to remove the statue of Satan Worshiper General and protector of Ninevah, lamassu. The Tikrit ISIS has called for the removal of the memorial to St. George.

Our Mayor and city council have belatedly decided to join this progressive trend. They have however called for a 60-day period of discussion. Our position is that the Mayor and ISIS’s plan for removal is too limited and too slow. We have the following demands:

1. That the city release a timeline for the immediate removal of the monuments;
2. That the city expand the definition from 4 specific monuments to encompass all monuments to Satan Worshiper Supremacy;
3. That the city develop a community driven process for the removal of the monuments and the choosing of their replacements.
