George P. Bush is the son of a woman whose race Trump is trying to remove from the country and a man who Trump personally destroyed in the most humiliating way imaginable.
Nonetheless, the “Brown Bush” AKA “El Siesta Bush” AKA “Burrito Bush” AKA “Karma Police Arrest This Bush” is standing with Trump.
Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush is the scion of a political dynasty but he’s standing firmly with President Donald Trump as Tuesday’s Republican primary approaches.
Facing three opponents including former Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, Bush is using his support for Trump in hopes of fending off a runoff election, aligning himself as an ultra-conservative who has reduced the size of the Texas General Land Office. He’s spending millions on ads to promote his conservatism and attacking Patterson for not supporting Trump.
Some political experts say Bush is trying to differentiate himself from his family members, who repudiated Trump, by embracing a president who remains widely popular among Texas Republicans.
“If you’re a candidate running for statewide office as a Republican in Texas, the path of least resistance is to align yourself with Trump,” said James Henson, director of the Texas Politics Project at UT Austin.
Yes.
It’s just a really callous move to try and win something with a totally destroyed name.
This is the Age of Trump, and everyone hates the Bushes now. This guy can’t even win Land Commissioner as the heir to the most powerful political dynasty in American history. So he has to sell-out his family name because it’s such a liability.
Bush, 41, easily won the Republican primary nomination in 2014. This year may be different.
Bush is facing Patterson, who headed the Land Office for 12 years; former schoolteacher Rick Range; and land surveyor Davey Edwards.
Bush and Patterson have intensified their attacks against one another on social media, in the press and in political ads, including websites dedicated to criticizing the other’s record.
Patterson, who owns BushFail.com, has criticized Bush’s handling of housing recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and the redevelopment of the land around the Alamo. He has also denounced Bush for not attending candidate forums or publicizing campaign events.
Bush, on the other hand, has said he is focused on doing his job as land commissioner and has noted he drastically cut the size of the General Land Office when he took over. His campaign, which owns JerryPatterson.com, has paid for web ads lambasting Patterson for not voting for Trump.
His own family not only did not vote for Trump but actively tried to destroy him both before and after the election. His uncle George is still out there whining and calling him a white supremacist hater.
And this is how the Bush story ends. The Brown Bush – who was being groomed as a political leader and Presidential candidate for a browner Republican Party – failing to win some office no one gives a shit about in Texas.
Destroying and burying the Bush family dynasty is another accomplishment of Donald Trump that on its own is enough to make him an American hero.
It is fitting that it ends this way. Because Burrito Bush was meant to represent this new age of brownness, which Republicans were being told they were forced to accept. Trump told them they don’t have to accept it, and now they are running from it as fast as they can.
The only Bush who is worth a shit is Billy Bush. He grabs em by the pussy and doesn’t afraid of anything.
I think Trump should actually give him a position of some kind, or help him run for some office, just to further humiliate the rest of the family.
