If House leadership is creating a standard & committing to calling a resolution for every incident – whether it’s the Congressional Black Caucus, CHC, etc, then thats a clear way to address the issue & we can all understand.
But if they’re not, I think it’s valid to ask why not.

I often think about how I work with white or male allies when they say something insensitive.
The 1st thing I do is pull them aside + say “hey, you may not be aware of X thing regarding Latinx people, but here is the history and it’s hurtful. If you want to learn more, read Y.”

It’s about time this bitch came out and said something about this scandal.
The most obvious thing about it when it was happening is that she refused to comment.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came to the defense of fellow congressional freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar on social media as the House prepares to vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in response to comments Omar made about Israel.
In a series of tweets on Monday and Tuesday, the New York Democrat accused lawmakers criticizing Omar of employing an inconsistent standard in their condemnation of bigotry. Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, has been accused by members of both parties of using anti-Semitic tropes in her critiques of U.S. policy in the Middle East.
“It’s not my position to tell people how to feel, or that their hurt is invalid,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.
“But incidents like these do beg the question: where are the resolutions against homophobic statements? For anti-blackness? For xenophobia? For a member saying he’ll ‘send Obama home to Kenya?'” she said, referring to comments Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., made in 2012.
“If House leadership is creating a standard & committing to calling a resolution for every incident … then thats a clear way to address the issue & we can all understand,” she said in another tweet. “But if they’re not, I think it’s valid to ask why not.”
This is some milquetoast bullshit. Of course.
And it reenforces the stupid hoax that somehow Jews are in the same class as nonwhites, and that anti-Semitism is somehow similar to other forms of so-called racism.
Firstly, all “racism” is fake. At least how it is presented, it is fake. There is no one going around hating people “because they’re different” and then trying to plot to harm them because they hate them because they’re different. That just doesn’t exist. It is a complete fantasy, a spook made up by the Jews to attack white people.
HOWEVER – I am totally willing to accept that brown people struggle in white society. Why would they not? They are not really doing all that well as far as integrating. They are overwhelmingly poor, and their communities are riddled with drugs and crime. I think that these problems are simply manifestations of their genetics, but they do exist. They’re not making it up. The fake part is saying that it’s white people’s fault.
To somehow shove Jews in with those people is just utterly nonsensical. Jews are the single wealthiest group in America. They control the entire media, the entire technology sector, and virtually every other industry in the country. They have such influence over the government that they are able to use the US military to fight wars for their home country of Israel.
These situations are not only not the same, they aren’t even vaguely similar.
If we take “racism” and “anti-Semitism” at face value, the former is resentment for poor people while the latter is resentment for the elite ruling class.
The only thing that is similar about these two things is that these groups all have the shared enemy of white men.
To AOC’s credit, this tweet was a little bit better:
I remember a time when it was “unacceptable” to question the Iraq War.
All of Congress was wrong, including both GOP & Dem Party, and led my generation into a disastrous + wrong war that virtually all would come to regret, except for the one member who stood up: Barbara Lee.

That borders on saying “Jews are responsible for wars,” which is a truth that very few liberals are willing to even hint at.
I am a little bit shocked that she posted that one. It’s obvious that she had an entire team trying to figure out what to say about this situation, and it took them two weeks to come up with “anti-Semitism is actually the same as every form of bigotry.”
But then they add “but also, Jews started the wars”?
Weird flex, but I’ll take it.
