The San Bernardino Muslim terrorist shooting has highlighted the fact that legal immigration to the US is now as big a threat as illegal immigration—not because of system failures but exclusively because of a race-denying visa admission policy.
The two San Bernardino shooters were both legally in the US. Syed Rizwan Farook was born in the US to a legal Pakistani immigrant family, while his wife, Tashfeen Malik, entered the US legally on July 27, 2014, on a K-1 or ‘fiancé visa.’
The K-1 visa allows foreign residents intending to marry American citizens to live with them in the US for up to 90 days prior to the wedding. Before entering the country, the partner has to undergo several rounds of counterterrorism screening and a medical exam. Malik would have also had to undergo a one-on-one interview with an embassy official in her home country of Pakistan.
As a routine part of the visa and green card applications, Malik gave fingerprints and other identifying information, which were passed twice through background checks using the State Department’s watch lists and the immigration, counterterror, and criminal databases at the Department of Homeland Security and at the FBI.
On September 30, 2014, Farook applied for a green card to make Malik a permanent resident, based on her marriage to an American citizen. She received her conditional green card in July 2015.
The case has echoes of several other cases where the perpetrators were all legally resident in the US:
– Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, a Jordanian born in Kuwait and a naturalized US citizen, carried out the July 16, 2015 Chattanooga shootings at two military installations in which five people were killed.
– Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, two “asylum seekers” in the US granted permanent residence, carried out the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, in which three people were killed and many more lost limbs.
– Yusuf Ibrahim, an Egyptian-born naturalized US citizen,Yusuf Ibrahim decapitated two Coptic Christians in an underreported terrorist attack in Buena Vista Township, New Jersey, on February 5, 2013.
– Nidal Malik Hasan, a US-born citizen to Palestinian immigrant parents, carried out the Fort Hood mass shooting on November 5, 2009, which killed 13 people and injured more than 30 others.
The reason why none of these perpetrators were identified as potential terrorists does not lie, as the conservatives in America have claimed, in “failings” within the US security services.
There were no previous indications that either of the San Bernardino shooters were followers of ISIS or other radical Islamist groups, and the immigration authorities had made sure that all the correct boxes were ticked and that they had fulfilled all the requirements to legally enter the US.
The fault lies exclusively with the entire US immigration policy, which has been deliberately race-blind since the 1965 immigration reform law, which removed the national origins quota system which always favored Europeans as source immigrants to America.
In other words, every single US administration from then on has been complicit in encouraging legal nonwhite immigration into the US, which has in turn sparked an even bigger illegal immigrant invasion from across the Mexican border.
It will come therefore as no surprise to learn that Al Qaeda, in its easily available online magazine Inspire, encourages individual Jihadis living in or emigrating to western countries to carry out attacks. Indeed, the Farook/Malik terrorists used the exact blueprint for bomb manufacturing as outlined in Inspire.
Between 2009 and 2013, the US legally admitted 680,000 immigrants from Muslim countries. In addition to this, over 150,000 Muslims are admitted each year under legally-issued “student” visas—a route which is also one of the fastest growing paths of entry into the US.
* In June 2015, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) had to admit that 73 of its workers were on the official US government’s “terror watch list.”
The TSA, which works under official federal guidelines mandating “equal opportunities” (a code word for “giving nonwhites preferential employment opportunities in the US government service), admitted that the people in question were working in major airports around the country and that “individuals in these categories represented a potential transportation security threat.”
Earlier that month, another report revealed that undercover federal agents had a 95 percent success rate at sneaking fake bombs and other banned weapons past airport security checkpoints during multiple tests.
