Trump’s presidency appears to be stuck on an infinite loop of asking for funding, not getting it, waiting a bit, and then asking for funding again.
President Trump will soon formally seek a total of $8.6 billion in new border wall funding from Congress as part of the White House’s upcoming budget proposal for the next fiscal year, three sources close to the budget process tell Fox News, although the aggressive request faces all-but-certain rejection in Congress amid a growing crisis at the southern border.
The budget is also expected to seek money to establish the Space Force as a new branch of the military, and to sharply curb spending on domestic safety-net programs.
According to the sources, Trump will look to secure $5 billion from Congress, plus $3.6 billion from the military construction budget, for the fiscal year 2020. The request is coming on top of the $8.1 billion Trump already has access to, which includes money he’s trying to shift from military accounts after declaring a national emergency.
Trump invoked the emergency declaration last month after Congress denied his request for $5.7 billion. Instead, Congress approved nearly $1.4 billion for the border barriers, far less than he wanted.
We’re already in 2019 and the only things Trump has accomplished are goals Israel had.
It’s humiliating for a man like Trump to be begging for money, so I don’t really know why he keeps doing it instead of using everyone in the military who is loyal to him to help him achieve his campaign’s promises. After all, isn’t he the Commander in Chief?
Who could be against using the force of the military to circumvent democracy in order to fulfill the promises that he made to the people that voted him?
The will of the people was made clear when Trump won, so whatever road he takes to achieve the promises he made to the people that voted for him would honor the will of the people.
Isn’t that the whole point of democracy?
Armed with the $8.1 billion of wall funding currently available in the fiscal year 2019 budget, and the approximately 122 miles of wall completed or in progress from the last two fiscal years, the Trump administration already has the money to build more than half of the targeted 722 miles of wall along the southern border, Fox News is told.
This $8.6 billion request for fiscal year 2020 would allow the administration to more than complete the promised 722 miles, and White House officials tell Fox News that with the crisis worsening at the border, those funds are more important than ever. The New York Times, citing government statistics, reported last week that the number of migrant families crossing the southwest border has hit an 11-year high, causing major humanitarian concerns.
Where are the pictures of the parts of the wall that were built these last few years? Why is he not bombarding his supporters with those pictures?
I want to see them.
Something tells me it’s not a proper wall.
But you know what? It doesn’t really matter anymore.
Andrew Yang is going to give everyone $1000 dollars a month, and even though non-whites may benefit from that, whites will benefit way more. Imagine what whites could achieve with that money. Imagine the peace of mind that that money would give you. You could get together with a group of smart friends, rent a cheap place, and get some startup going; study, research, improve, produce, create.
Blacks and browns would waste it on drugs and shitty foods, and that’s… not a bad thing, they’d either die of overdoses or obesity-related complications. [Editor’s Note: Most of them wouldn’t even get it, because the program subtracts existing government money being received from the $1000.]
It’s a win-win. I mean, America is going to shit anyway. Might as well get some free money while it happens.
