Well, we might still be importing thousands upon thousands of ISIS refugees, and we might still be funding “Sanctuary Cities” to help Mexican rapists, murderers and drug dealers remain in the country forever and not be punished for committing felonies and so on – but at least we caught this Australian guy.

An Australian man has been arrested by US immigration officials for reportedly overstaying his visit to the country by 90 minutes after being denied entry into Canada.

On April 24, a 26-year-old Canberra man, Baxter Reid, traveled to the border in upstate New York with his American girlfriend, Heather Kansco, but was denied entry to Canada and subsequently arrested by US border police.

Following his arrest, Reid was imprisoned at Buffalo Federal Detention Center where he could be held for six months before being brought before a judge. Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Baxter’s father, Tom Reid, explained that the couple had arrived at the border at 10pm local time on April 23 as his visa was due to expire at midnight.

“For some reason the Canadians kept them until 1:30am and then refused them entry. They returned them to the United States and by then they were an hour and a half over the visa, and [he] got locked up,” his father said.

Though Reid has a five-year visa, he’s required to leave the states every six months.

Kansco set up a GoFundMe page with the hope of raising money for her boyfriend’s defense. The target of $8,000 has already been reached.

On the page Kansco explains the couple’s ordeal. “As we approached the border, the people working border patrol started giving us a bit of a hard time. They spent hours asking us remedial questions and giving us the runaround, with hours of dead time in between,” she said.

Seriously, wtf is this?

Apparently, they think making a big show of giving a white guy a hard time over a tiny immigration issue will make them look “not racist.”

There has to have been some official order that said “we need to catch some white guy doing something and charge him so we stop being accused of racism.”

Here’s the guy:

Look.

Imprisoning some white guy for no reason does not make you not look racist. It makes you look stupid and dishonest. Because everyone knows this guy did nothing that matters and that the only reason you would mess with him is for social signaling purposes.

You are going to get called a racist no matter what, so the best thing to say is: “yes, we like white immigrants, because they share our culture and social norms. We view them as more welcome in our country do to their socialization.”

Yeah, they’re still going to call you racist.

But they’re going to call you racist no matter what.

Donald Trump is refusing to deport DACA babies, he’s refusing to build the wall, he’s refusing to defund sanctuary cities, he’s refusing to end refugee programs (or even change them to favor Christians) – and he still has hundreds of thousands of people out on the street calling him a racist and burning things.

Both Hillary and Bernie were called racists.

There is no way to not be called a racist.

Certainly, making some big show of harassing some Aussie bro does not “prove” you’re not a racist. As I say, it just looks like manipulative, pointless propaganda.

The best way is to just be like “yeah, whatever, okay.”

I mean, the best way might be to just say “yep, you got me – I hate the color of the skin – that is all that drives me is an irrational distaste for the aesthetics of highly melanated skin tones.”

But the key thing is just to refuse to engage. Don’t defend yourself from the allegation and argue with them, as that is looked at as proof that there is substance to it.

Never say “I am not a racist,” and never do anything that is meant to signal “I’m not a racist.”
