Every time we have reasonably good news in this section it is because White people did not relax.
In this case, an 81-year-old White man stayed alert and shot a feral dindu who likely would have shot him.
Three women have been formally charged with aggravated robbery by Miller County prosecutors in connection with a holdup in Genoa last year that cost a fourth co-defendant his life.
Kiana Keshaun Montgomery, 21, Shaynesha Martin, 20, and Ke’Erica Turner, 20, were arrested several days after a Genoa, Ark., homeowner shot and killed 19-year-old Shemar Davion Harris during a robbery. The 81-year-old Genoa man told investigators that he was prompted to routinely arm himself after being the target of six robberies in the 10 months prior to the Nov. 2 shooting.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Connie Mitchell signed off Friday on formal charges of aggravated robbery for Montgomery, Martin and Turner. Montgomery and Turner are both free on bonds of $50,000. Martin remains in the Miller County jail. Her bail is set at $50,000 as well.
Montgomery, Martin and Turner were allegedly in cahoots with Harris when he attempted Nov. 2 to rob the elderly Genoa man. The shooting occurred at about 1:30 p.m. at a house on Highway 196 and County Road 290.
