Tires were slashed, a windshield was smashed and a man was stabbed to death on New Year’s Day according to police.
The incident took place at 1708 N.W. 16th Street in Ft. Lauderdale. Police detectives said an altercation began earlier in the day and then the murder took place late in the evening.
According to a police report, Lloyd Scott, 56, slashed tires on a vehicle and smashed out the window of Cindy Supersad’s car around 2:15 p.m. at the N.W. 16th Street home.
Supersad is said to be Scott’s estranged girlfriend.
Another person, Stanley Musler, and Supersad told police they witnessed the crime.
Supersad told police, after the incident, Scott called her home several times and made threats to kill “everyone”.
Just after 11:30 p.m. Supersad told police Scott returned to the home armed with a knife.
According to a police report, Supersad, Norman Cameron and Alexander Ray were inside the home.
Supersad told police she watched Scott put Cameron, 41, in a head lock and ran to call for help. Scott reportedly told Ray “don’t worry, I’m not here for you.” Ray said he ran from the scene.
When police arrived at the home, they found Cameron’s lifeless body next to the home with numerous knife wounds.
Cameron’s address is listed as 2700 N.W. 44th Street in Ft. Lauderdale.
Officers used a K-9 to locate Scott near the home and arrest him. The police report stated Scott resisted arrest.
The alleged murder weapon was later located buried at the crime scene.
Scott is charged with premeditated murder, resisting arrest and battery.
He made his first appearance in front of a Broward County judge Friday morning.
