Oh lordy.
It’s Monday.
I thought we were going to start a new week of less shitty Trump behavior, but here we are with this.
President Trump on Monday ordered the expulsion of 60 Russian intelligence officers in the United States and the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle in response to the nerve agent attack on an ex-Russian spy in the U.K. earlier this month, senior administration officials said.
The steps, following Britain’s expulsion of Russian diplomats, are meant to send a message to Moscow that actions have consequences, the officials said. The Seattle consulate is being closed because of its proximity to submarine bases, as well as Boeing.
“With these steps, the United States and our allies and partners make clear to Russia that its actions have consequences,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said. “The United States stands ready to cooperate to build a better relationship with Russia, but this can only happen with a change in the Russian government’s behavior.”
Russia, which has been blamed for the attack, has denied wrongdoing.
Officials said a total of 60 Russians are being expelled, including 48 at the Russian embassy and 12 at the United Nations. The individuals and their families have been given seven days to leave the United States.
“Today, the United States began the process of expelling 12 intelligence operatives from the Russian Mission to the United Nations who have abused their privilege of residence in the United States,” UN Ambassador Nikki Haley said Monday. “After a review, we have determined that the 12 intelligence operatives engaged in espionage activities that are adverse to our national security.”
Officials said the president made the decision after several intelligence meetings last week, and was continuously briefed about the process over the weekend.
This is absolutely not necessary.
Trump very easily could have said “let’s see the evidence first.”
Because there is no evidence.
But of course, this false flag type stuff feeds on the fact that if you start talking about it being a false flag, you look crazy. It’s the big lie technique.
But Trump’s fate is now tied to the fate of Russia.
That is what makes all of this so dumb.
The opposition has successfully memed the idea that Russia supports Trump, and helped him get elected somehow. So if Russia is painted as evil, then that looks bad on Trump. If they’re willing to use chemical agents to assassinate their enemies on UK soil, then of course they are willing to “hack the election.”
The solution for Trump would be to push past the evil Russia narrative, not agree to it.
This is Not Looking Good, Friends
In the last week, Trump has done a lot of very bad things.
The budget bill was absolutely horrible. He banned our precious bumpstocks.
Most horribly (before this Russian expulsion), he appointed this complete whackjob John Bolton as National Security advisor. This is a guy who is a more hardcore war psycho than Bibi himself.
This is all lining up to end badly.
Looks like full-on apocalypse is back on the menu, boys.
I have said clearly that I do not believe that some kind of financial crisis is going to lead to a total collapse of society.
There is really no chance of such a thing.
However, what would lead to a full collapse of society is a war with Russia. And though I would like to think that Trump wouldn’t do that, there’s a possibility he has gotten into a position where he doesn’t have any choice, and we simply have to watch what happens.
What I can say with absolute certainty is that there has never been a more important time for us to get our shit together. The Alt-Right needs to be a cohesive intellectual movement offering a resistance to all of this craziness. And because of the absolute need to be a cohesive intellectual movement, we need to get ourselves organized along those lines.
We need to back away from the “protest movement” framework, and begin presenting clear political ideology.
I have written a long article about that, which I think everyone should read.
No one else other than us is able to formulate a viable alternative to the present order.
And in a situation where everything begins to fall apart, we need to be ready.
This is the big league now, kids.
