YES YES YES!
President Trump at a rally in Montana Thursday praised the state’s congressman for body slamming a reporter — and said the assault helped him win a seat in the US House.
Speaking to a Missoula event, Trump showered GOP Rep. Greg Gianforte with praise and recalled the candidate assaulting Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs last year for trying to ask a question.
“Any guy that can do a body slam, he’s my kind of guy,” Trump said to applause. “I shouldn’t say that — (but) there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”
Trump said he initially thought Gianforte’s act of violence would hurt his election chances, but “then I said ‘well, wait a minute, I know Montana pretty well, I think it might help him.’ And it did!” Trump said. “He’s a great guy. Tough cookie.”
Gianforte — who represents the state’s single at-large district — pleaded guilty in court last year to a charge of misdemeanor assault and is seeking reelection in November.
…
The Guardian later put out a statement blasting Trump for making light of the incident.
“To celebrate an attack on a journalist who was simply doing his job is an attack on the First Amendment by someone who has taken an oath to defend it,” Guardian US editor John Mulholland said in a statement, in which he brought up the apparent slaying of a Washington Post writer at the Saudi Arabian consulate building in Turkey.
“In the aftermath of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, it runs the risk of inviting other assaults on journalists both here and across the world where they often face far greater threats.”
These filthy Guardian kikes were involved in calling for me to be shut down, and then the rats want to talk about “muh First Amendment.”
These are also people who attacked Charlottesville and said we didn’t have a right to speak, who have recently attacked the Proud Boys saying they don’t have a right to walk the streets without being attacked. Furthermore, it’s a British paper – this is a country with some of the most strict speech laws in the entire world. Probably the most strict outside of Germany.
The First Amendment has nothing to do with a journalist’s right to barge into someone’s office and shove a mic in their face and then refuse to leave – which is what actually happened.
I would support him even if he had done exactly what they are saying he did and attacked the Jew for asking a question – but here is the statement released at the time by Gianforte’s spokesman:
Tonight, as Greg was giving a separate interview in a private office, The Guardian’s Ben Jacobs entered the office without permission, aggressively shoved a recorder in Greg’s face, and began asking badgering questions. Jacobs was asked to leave. After asking Jacobs to lower the recorder, Jacobs declined. Greg then attempted to grab the phone that was pushed in his face. Jacobs grabbed Greg’s wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground. It’s unfortunate that this aggressive behavior from a liberal journalist created this scene at our campaign volunteer BBQ.
Suggesting that the First Amendment guarantees the right to harass people is retarded. It guarantees only the right to print what you want, there is nothing in it about the way you gather the information you print. And ONCE AGAIN – The Guardian and all of the rest of the media is AGAINST my right and Alex Jones’ right to print what we want to print.
No joke – look at this:
The Guardian, one of the most read papers in the world, was at the very forefront of calling for a complete and total shutdown on internet free speech – and then they call First Amendment when a journalist isn’t allowed to rush someone.
I mean, you all get it. Everyone gets it. It is just so enraging every time this comes up, and these filthy fucking JEWS are using OUR Founding Fathers to defend their supposed right to destroy OUR country.
And it always means a lot when Trump stands with us.
God bless him.
Here’s the fully rally from last night in Montana.
