A one man crimewave who has been arrested more than 100 TIMES in just six years has been slapped with an Anti Social Behaviour Injunction.

Kirk Weston has been hit with the two-year order that bans him from going within 100 yards of victims he has threatened with violence.

Police say he has been linked to offences of domestic violence, drugs, assaults and robberies at, or close to, his mother’s address in Lygon Grove, Quinton.

The 23-year-old has been banned from riding mini-motorbikes recklessly, playing loud music and threatening anyone across a huge swathe of south Birmingham including Quinton, Harborne, Selly Oak, Weoley Castle, Bartley Green and Woodgate Valley.

He was also banned from using abusive language and from allowing any dog to cause a nuisance or annoyance.

The council and police – who brought the action against him – said convictions had proved difficult to secure because witnesses had been reluctant to turn up court for fear of reprisals.

If Weston is caught breaching the injunction he will be arrested and dragged back to court.

West-Midlands-Police
The Council and the Police got together to put a two year injunction on him.

Rob James, Service Director of Housing Transformation for Birmingham City Council, said: “These injunctions demonstrate support from the courts in protecting our communities from this sort of behaviour.

“Despite previous warnings and attempts to engage with Weston, the anti-social behaviour and criminal activity continued so we had no alternative but to take legal action.”

Inspector Dave Cotter, of West Midlands Police said: “The ASBI is proof that when the community comes together we can be successful in stopping unacceptable behaviour.

“Most of the time it’s a small minority in the community who persist in causing problems for law-abiding citizens. By working together in partnership we can make a difference.”

An application to seek possession of the council house in Quinton is ongoing and has been adjourned until August 26.

Anyone can report anti social behaviour to police on 101, or anonymously with the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
