Two teenagers were stabbed and a police officer was injured at an illegal ‘Santa Stomp’ rave in a warehouse on Saturday night.
Thousands of revellers turned up at the secret warehouse rave in east London, where they dressed up in Father Christmas outfits and partied to dance music through the night.
The event was advertised on Facebook, with the location available to people who sent phone numbers to an email address given by organisers.
But the rave soon descended into “madness” when violence broke out, leaving two stabbed and five others injured.
Riot police were targeted by missiles when they arrived on the scene in Wapping in the early hours of Sunday morning, with one officer treated for injuries.
A witness wrote on Twitter: “the hole (sic) f***ing rave turned into a episode of gt5!”
Another posted: “No one would understand the madness of Santa stomp unless you were there.”
A police spokesman said a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a stab wound in his leg, but was later discharged. An 18-year-old remains in hospital and is being treated for stomach injuries. Another 18-year-old was arrested in connection with the second stabbing, and has been bailed until February.
A London Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 12.05am to Pennington Street where we treated seven patients, including two men who had suffered stab wounds. They all received treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital.”
