I cried tears after learning that the British government would no longer be funding the Ethiopian girl band Yegna. Ok maybe not lol.

How awful is this? The British government announced that they would stop funding an Ethiopian girl band called “Yegna”. This news has caused tears to flow down my face lol.

BBC:

The government has axed plans to fund a five-member Ethiopian girl band, saying there are “more effective ways” to invest UK aid.

International Development Secretary Priti Patel reviewed the funding after reports that pop group Yegna had received millions from UK taxpayers.

The government planned to give Girl Effect, the organisation which created Yegna, £11.8m between 2015 and 2018.

Girl Effect said its aims had been “wilfully misrepresented” in the media.

The project was created by the UK’s Department for International Development and Nike Foundation in 2011 to promote women’s rights in Ethiopia.

Girl Effect spent £100,000 promoting Yegna since 2015, which has been the subject of a long-running campaign by the Daily Mail. It dubbed the band “Ethiopia’s Spice Girls” saying that grants to the group were a waste of money.

Seriously though, how did this scheme get approved in the first place? We are talking about millions in taxpayer funds going to pay for an Ethiopian version of the “Spice Girls”. For those unfamiliar with them, they were a horrible British girl band that unfortunately gained prominence in the 1990s.

I think most sane people would agree that the “Spice Girls” represented one of the most awful things of the 1990s. Their music sucked and likely drove people to suicide. With that track record, why would anybody want to replicate that horrible mistake with an Ethiopian version of it? Did these fools really think that an Ethiopian girl band was going to change how Ethiopians view women’s rights? You are not going to change the racial behavior of Africans by spending millions of British pounds on a pop music act.

Fortunately it looks as if most parts of the Western world have already reached peak Cultural Marxism. It has spawned so much stupidity that it is becoming impossible for the average person to ignore. As politics begins to move in our direction, stupid ideas like funding Ethiopian girl bands with taxpayer money should hopefully become a thing of the past.
