An urgent nationwide manhunt has been launched for a rape suspect – after a woman was brutally attacked in a city centre flat.
A 32-year-old woman was left with serious injuries following the attack between midnight and 12:55am last Friday (March 15).
Temesgen Desta, aged 31, is wanted for questioning in connection with the attack on Essex Street.
Merseyside Police also want to speak to Desta in connection with a sexual assault that took place in Merseyside on March 14.
Detectives from both forces believe he has been travelling throughout the country on the rail network.
A ‘comprehensive’ investigation is underway, but members of the public are warned not to approach Desta if they see him.
