A 30-year-old woman was violently attacked, raped and robbed by a stranger, in a terrifying assault on a London street in the early hours of the morning.
Scotland Yard detectives, who have stressed this type of attack is extremely rare, have now released clear CCTV of a man they want to speak to who was seen in the area at the time.
At 3.10am on Tuesday, the man approached the 30-year-old woman as she was walking along Causton Street at the junction with Mead Mews, in Pimlico, London.
He attacked her violently before raping her and stealing from her, then ran off towards Vauxhall Bridge in the direction of the bus station.
The woman was left with bruises to to her arms and continues to be supported by specialist officers.
She described her rapist as a black man in his 30s, approximately 6ft tall.
He was wearing distinctive clothing of a black baseball cap with white writing, a jacket with a large red pattern on the front, grey jeans and black trainers with red stripes.
