Who do you think owns all the property in the West? Who do you think is benefitting from mass migration, inflow of hot money, and rising property values.
If you guessed “the Jews” you are, of course, partially correct. But the more obvious answer is “the Boomers”.
If you’ve got a home in a leafy suburb that you bought forty years ago that has trebled in value, you’re not really feeling the sting that millennials are feeling.
Where I lived in the US, you couldn’t get a home in a White area for less than a million. No way, no how.
The only people that could afford to live in these places were Millennial yuppies living 5 to a place and renting every month. The typical 9-7 during weekdays and then getting drunk/high on the weekends with your roommates while living in squalor.
I guess they have the same problems in the UK.
BBC:
Up to a third of young people face living in private rented accommodation all their lives, a new report by the Resolution Foundation has found.
The think tank said 40% of “millennials” – those born between 1980 and 1996 – were living in rented housing by the age of 30.
That was twice as many as “generation X” – those born between 1965 and 1980.
The government said it was already putting policies in place to improve the housing market.
The Foundation’s Home Improvements report said “generation rent” needed much more help. It called for more affordable homes for first-time buyers to be built, as well as better protection for those who rent.
Although renting is often a reasonable choice for people who have few ties, the private rented sector is “far less fit for purpose” for those with children because of a lack of security.
It is harder and harder to find a “starter home” because of many reasons. Here are the main reasons that come to mind.
- Millennials don’t make as much money
- Millennials are in debt
- Millennials have useless degrees
- Mass migration has drastically reduced the number of liveable low-income White areas
- Chinese and Arab investors looking to stash their dirty cash are buying up real estate all over the West
- Boomer zoning regulations means not enough new homes are being built
- Millennials don’t actually really want to buy houses because they don’t intend on having kids
- Not to Boomer-post here, but millennials really are lazy, good for nothing and spend all their money on useless consumerist junk and never save
If I can Millennial-splain for a moment though, the reason I used to spend my money on avocados and gourmet coffee is because I never thought I had a shot at saving up enough money for a house or something more stable.
Also avocado is a delicious superfruit. I’m sorry I don’t eat mass-produced lard by the bucket from McDiabetes like you disgusting Boomer animals. You don’t even know how to eat with a fork and knife properly. Seriously, they have the table manners of fucking barbarians. And they always stuff themselves to the brim even though they are full. Is your body a garbage can? This isn’t the fucking great depression, you don’t “need” to finish your meal if you’re not hungry. What are you, a child? Listen to what your body is telling you instead of role-playing that we’re living through a famine. What are you, a fucking peasant? Also, “unlimited refills” shouldn’t be considered a challenge.
So why not just spend it?
Plus I hated the city I was living in and everyone around me. So I would also spend a lot on travel to get out.
Idk, I’m torn on the whole Millennial Question.
On the one hand, I know that Millennials really suck. They’re capricious, whiney, self-hating, man-children.
But on the other hand, I know that they were made this way by a sick society and under the negligent care of the Boomers.
Either way, they’re basically going to be slumming it for the foreseeable future and whining about it too.
No one will give a shit though.
The Boomers don’t care/are making money off this new paradigm and there are no real unions or collective bargaining organizations left in the West really. Only groups that cater to minority interests.
So if you’re a White Millennial and you don’t have rich parents/big city connections you’re kinda screwed lmao…
