The 26-year-old actor – who plays the role of Dexter Hartman in Albert Square – has been given a leave of absence for alleged “bad behaviour backstage and outside of work”.
A BBC spokesperson confirmed the suspension, and said: “Khali Best has been suspended from EastEnders for three months. We will not comment any further on this matter.”
The news comes just months after Khlai won the Best Newcomer gong at the National Television Awards.
The actor has been involved in some drama recently after he crashed his £18,000 Audi A3 during busy rush-hour morning traffic earlier on this month.
According to an eyewitness, Khali’s vehicle collided with a van as Khali tried to drive past it.
However, he’s not the first young star of the show to have been punished in recent months.
Khali’s co-star Ricky Norwood – who plays Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb – was also banned from filming after a video emerged of him smoking marijuana earlier this year.
The actor was suspended for two months “for bringing the show into disrepute”.
