The former head of the Marston’s brewing company has stated the obvious fact that the growing Moslem population is one of the main reasons for the ongoing pub closures in the UK.
Lord Hodgson, of Astley Abbotts, made the point while arguing recent industry moves to allow landlords tied to big firms to demand rent-only agreements were misguided.
He said “socio-economic factors”, such as a growing number of teetotal Muslims living in Britain, played a much bigger role in the decline in pubs than “rapacious owners”.

He said: “Twenty-five years ago, the company of which I was a director would have operated probably a dozen pubs in Kidderminster, the home of the carpet trade,” he said.
“The carpet trade has gone and there are three pubs left.
“In areas of Nottingham, Leicester, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham the increase in the Muslim population, who don’t drink, leads to many pub closures.
“The tide is running against the ordinary pub.”
The whole “they will adopt our culture” nonsense has been completely abandoned, and the multiculturalists are simply saying the truth: they will overwrite our culture with their own, our culture will be phased out.
Did anyone ever vote on this?
If, before the invasion, people were given a referendum with just one question – “do you want British culture to be replaced with Islam?” – how would they have voted?
How would people vote now?
How is it even conceivable that “yeah, let’s replace the entirety of European society with Islam” is a popular opinion among any group other than Moslems?
