A MAN has been jailed for eight years after throwing chemicals at a man in an unprovoked attack.

Anthony Furniss, 43, of Larch Green, Grahame Park, attacked a 42-year-old man in Studio Mews, Finchley on October 25, 2013. Furniss threw the contents of a white bottle at the man, who turned and used his arms to protect his face.

The victim felt a strong burning sensation to his arms, shoulders and back. He ran to a nearby taxi firm who called for help.

Paramedics took the man to a north London hospital where he spent four days being treated for chemical burns.

Furniss was arrested and charged two days later.

He was remanded in custody and stood trial at Wood Green Crown Court. He was found guilty by a jury on April 9, and sentenced to eight year behind bars.
