After forty years of campaigning as a Nationalist in elections for public office, this is the first time that Richard Edmonds has had to stand as an Independent. The explanation is that the records of the Electoral Commission, which oversees the election process, have not been up-dated: they do not reflect the change of office-holders at the top of the National Front.
