UKIP is starting to realize just how dangerous and unlawful their opponents really are.
The party has been subjected to a concentrated terrorist campaign, with letters detailing intent to use murder, physical violence against property and to fire bomb people’s homes.
There was a time when only doubting the gas chambers would get that kind of treatment, now you get it just for saying you support marriage.
Party members across the country have reported death threats and vandalism against property.
This comes after an anonymous threatening letter claimed lives would be at risk if a Ukip candidate in West Lancashire turned up to a hustings event.
It added that the hustings last Tuesday “would go tragically for all involved” if Jack Sen arrived.
The letter was signed from “Standing Up To Ukip.”
Mr Sen said: “I would have loved to go to the hustings, but I’ve been warned that because it was a co-ordinated letter, it’s high risk for me and my family.
“It was frightening and it’s not right that someone or some peoples are trying to silence a democratic process.”
But the similarly named campaign group “Stand Up To Ukip” told The Times they knew nothing about the threats, with caused the candidate to pull out of the debate.
Further “murder” warnings were allegedly sent to Oxford West and Abingdon Ukip candidate Alan Harris earlier this month.
Internet threats to firebomb his home were made after Mr Harris was accused of making homophobic comments online, which he denies.
He said: “I thought about standing down, but then thought, no way. Why should we let them win?”
On Sunday Bradford East Ukip candidate Owais Rajput was allegedly pushed by rival supporters on Sunday night and West Yorkshire police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
