UKIP wants the top tax rate cut from 45 per cent to 40 per cent, the party will say in its manifesto for next year’s general election.
It also wants to take minimum wage earners out of income tax entirely by raising the free personal allowance to £12,500 a year, it revealed yesterday.
And it says the 40p rate should not come in until people earn £45,000.
The party will back the Coalition’s cap on benefits per household, currently £26,000.
And new migrants should not be allowed welfare benefits until they have paid tax and National Insurance for five years, it will say.
Ukip policy chief Tim Aker called the plans a “blue collar platform” to win working class votes.
Ukip cannot hope to have enough MPs to form a government and implement its plans by itself but leader Nigel Farage believes it could hold the balance of power.
