⚡️ NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte confirmed North Korean troops have moved to Russia’s Kursk region, calling it a “significant escalation.”
He noted this reflects Putin’s “desperation” after losing over 600,000 soldiers in the war.

These people are whining and going nuts.
Zelensky is saying that North Korea being involved is the final straw and that the US should allow him to use US weapons to attack Moscow. However, the US is apparently unmoved by this claim.
The U.S. will not impose new limits on Ukraine’s use of American weapons if North Korea enters the fight, the Pentagon said on Monday, as NATO said North Korean military units had been deployed to Russia’s Kursk region.
The North Korea deployment is fanning Western concerns that the 2-1/2-year conflict in Ukraine could widen, even as attention shifts to the Middle East.
It could signal how Russia hopes to offset mounting battlefield losses and continue making slow, steady gains in eastern Ukraine.
…
The Pentagon estimated 10,000 North Korean troops had been deployed to eastern Russia for training, up from an estimate of 3,000 troops last Wednesday.
“A portion of those soldiers have already moved closer to Ukraine, and we are increasingly concerned that Russia intends to use these soldiers in combat or to support combat operations against Ukrainian forces in Russia’s Kursk Oblast near the border with Ukraine,” said Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh, using a term for a Russian region.
Frankly, I thought this North Korean soldiers story was a hoax. NATO had wanted to bring in South Koreans to fly the American fighter jets for the Ukraine since the Ukrainians cannot be trained to pilot these jets, and this seemed like a good excuse for that.
However, it now does appear likely that there are a few North Koreans being sent to be involved in the conflict.
It makes sense. Of course the Koreans would want the chance to be involved in a real battle, and Putin and Kim signed a mutual defense pact that they would help each other if either was invaded. And Russia has been invaded.
