US Marines are currently surrounding the city of Raqqa – ISIS’ capital in Syria – with heavy artillery in support of the Russian-Syrian-Iranian offensive to take the city back.
Raqqa is one of the last dominoes that needs to fall in order to finally end this silly war.
BBC:
The US has sent 400 additional troops to Syria to support an allied local force aiming to capture the so-called Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa.
They include Marines, who arrived in the past few days. US special forces are already in Syria.
Meanwhile, US-led coalition air strikes killed 20 civilians – including children – near the city, reports say.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is to host talks with coalition members ahead of an expected assault on Raqqa.
Foreign ministers and senior officials from 68 nations and international organisations had been invited to attend a two-day gathering in Washington beginning on 22 March, the state department said.
…
The Associated Press news agency reports that Mr Trump wants to give the Pentagon greater flexibility to make routine combat decisions in the fight against IS.
Commanders on the ground were frustrated by what they considered micromanagement by the Obama administration, it adds. The US is also said to be preparing to send up to 1,000 troops to Kuwait to serve as a reserve force that can be deployed to fight IS in Syria and Iraq if necessary.
Will you look at that. Coalition strikes on the ISIS stronghold are only killing civilians and children according to the BBC. I’m surprised Jews in the media aren’t turning this into another Aleppo. Maybe this atrocity-mongering bullshit just doesn’t work anymore.
Interesting to hear that the heavy US presence and apparent bombing runs the Obama administration claimed were targeting ISIS were being “micromanaged” from above. Seeing as Obama spent most of his time in office playing golf and curling 5 pound weights, (((who))) could’ve been doing the micromanagement?
What matters here is that the USA was at the very least looking to prolong the Syrian war, and more likely was at the root of it. I don’t believe in coincidences, and in just two months since Trump took office, a war that has been a back and fourth stalemate since 2011 is about to end.
Trump doesn’t seem too interested in investigating why no progress was made by “coalition forces” against ISIS for all these years. He’s letting sleeping dogs lie. But he needs to reform the intelligence services to ensure something like this never happens again.
Soon Syria will be at peace, and the hundreds of thousands of 34-year-old sub-Saharan African children who flooded Europe fleeing this gruesome war can be repatriated to safety.
Everyone wins. Except the Jew.
