Five years and change.
He’ll get out, do something else, and go back in again.
A Brooklyn man who attacked a vagrant — and recorded the beat-down on Facebook Live — was slapped with more than five years in prison Friday.
Daquan King, 24, had already copped to the senseless March 2017 assault, in which he tormented the intoxicated homeless man before throwing him down a flight of stairs.
King “took money from the victim’s pocket, tossed it on the floor, closed the elevator door and held it shut for several minutes, trapping the man inside,” authorities said in court papers. “After he allowed the victim to exit the elevator, [King] pulled him to the floor, and hit, dragged and kicked him down the stairs as two of [his] friends looked on and laughed.”
At that point, King started broadcasting the assault. The social-media post showed the man fly about 15 steps down the stairwell and crumple on a landing.
King pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree assault last month in exchange for a five-and-a-half-year sentence.
He faced up to 15 years behind bars before the plea deal.
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez decried the “cruel and cowardly assault” as “sickening and shameful.”
It’s unfortunate that I can’t find this video in a hurry.
The policy of facebook, youtube, etc. to remove videos of graphic criminal violence is just another way that they prevent you from you from seeing, with your own eyes, the merciless brutality of these “people.”
Since the image is lost, you can just imagine that it looked something like this, but with less style.
