Violent Black Savage Pleads Guilty to Murder of White Grandmother

Joanne Desha was found with a vacuum cleaner cord wrapped around her, with her hands mangled out of shape where her jewelry had been removed.

UPDATE: The man charged in the 2012 murder of 75 year-old Joanne Desha accepted a plea deal Tuesday.

Reginald Mapp Jr. pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced 40 years. Mapp was also sentenced to 15 years for the charge of aggravated robbery, which will be served concurrently.

PREVIOUS STORY (2012): A grand jury will decide if the case of the man accused of murdering a 75 year old Chattanooga woman will move forward.

Reginald Mapp Jr. is charged with felony murder and especially aggravated robbery.

Police say Joanne Desha’s adult children found her unresponsive on the floor of her Marco Circle home, after not being able to reach her by phone.

A judge sent the case to the Grand Jury Wednesday.

Mapp is being held on a $500,000 bond.
