Wealthiest Ukrainians are Not Ukrainian

Ukrainian Oligarchs. What is the most disturbing trends in Ukraine is that the wealthiest people control business, media, and hold major positions of political power. They are also non ethnic Ukrainians.

Ukraine is 78% ethnic Ukrainian. But the five top Oligarchs are 0% Ukraine.

Forbes and several other companies rank Rinat Akhmetov as the single wealthiest person in the Ukraine. They disagree about who is in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place. Most rank

#1 Rinat Akhmetov, Muslim Tartar, worth between $11-18 Billion. Very politically active with the largest political party in the Ukraine. Was closely tied with former Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko. According to leaked cables from the US state department as well as information published by the Ukrainian government, his wealth was obtained through organized crime. Owns the most expensive penthouse in London, where he spends part of his time.

Victor Pinchuk, Jewish, about $4.5 Billion. Biggest industry is steel, but also owns a media empire. Former member of the Ukrainian parliament. Actively involved with George Soros. Married the daughter of former Ukrainian president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma. Was invited to Bill Clinton’s 60th birthday party.

Ihor Valeriyovych Kolomoyskyi, Jewish, worth between $3-$6.5 Billion. Has dual citizenship with Israel, even though dual citizenship is supposed to be illegal in Israel. Very politically active. Appointed governor of violence racked Dnipropetrovsk Oblast last March. Has offered a bounty for the capture of pro-Russian militants. He is also the head of the European Council of Jewish Communities and the head of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine. Also owns media outlets. Was closely tied with former Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko.

Henadiy Boholyubov, $1.7-6.3 Billion, Jewish. International banking empire.

Vadym Novynskyi, $1.6 -$3.1 Billion, Russian. Oil and gas. Born in Russian.

Kostyantyn Zhevago, $1.3 – $2.4 Billion. Russian. Mining and banking. Member of the Ukrainian parliament. Born in Russia.
