Leonard Cohen, the hugely influential singer and songwriter whose work spanned five decades, died at the age of 82. Cohen’s label, Sony Music Canada, confirmed his death on the singer’s Facebook page.

“It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away,” the statement read. “We have lost one of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries. A memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later date. The family requests privacy during their time of grief.” A cause of death and exact date of death was not given.

“Unmatched in his creativity, insight and crippling candor, Leonard Cohen was a true visionary whose voice will be sorely missed,” his manager Robert Kory wrote in a statement. “I was blessed to call him a friend, and for me to serve that bold artistic spirit firsthand, was a privilege and great gift. He leaves behind a legacy of work that will bring insight, inspiration and healing for generations to come.”

Cohen was the dark eminence among a small pantheon of extremely influential singer-songwriters to emerge in the Sixties and early Seventies. Only Bob Dylan exerted a more profound influence upon his generation, and perhaps only Paul Simon and fellow Canadian Joni Mitchell equaled him as a song poet.

Dylan (Zimmerman) and Simon are also Jews. Joni Mitchell isn’t, but is as overrated as these kikes.

As someone who has listened to a lot of this sort of music, I can tell you that Leonard Cohen was absurdly overrated. He was a horrible singer, an incompetent insturmentalist and a poet of the sort that could maybe win a high school poetry contest. He had one pretty decent album in 1969 then a sort of okay album in 1971. With the former, I’m not sure David Crosby didn’t do the majority of the composition. Jews obviously have a habit of stealing the creative work of talented goyim.

Probably in that order, though I don’t want to argue about it with any old guys who may be reading this.

There are even contemporary folk singers that are better than Leonard Cohen (mainly aware of these because, you know – women; I am all about not letting them make any important choices, but you have to give them irrelevant choices to make, such as what music to listen to).

All of this is without mentioning the closely-related genre of country-western, which also contains many White singer-songwriters way better than Cohen/Dylan/Ochs/Simon/etc.

And to anyone who thinks all of this music sucks, so it doesn’t even matter – my 32-year-old self totally agrees.

I only listen to synthwave now.

Except I still do listen to Van Morrison. And Andrew Bird.

And I mean. I’ll check new albums when they come out. Sometimes. But I do that with pretty well all genres.

Seriously though, folk music is basically totally degenerate in that it is so much associated with depression and drug abuse. It’s also way too emotional, and I don’t think it is especially good for men to indulge in emotionality – at least not very often. I mean, classical music and opera is very emotional, but it’s like, back in the day people would hear it like twice a year.

There is something about White people that makes them want to indulge in sadness. I mean, you don’t see Blacks or any other race producing music like this. That’s all “I got bitches and blunts and I’m about to do a party and/or go kill people.”

People need to be aware of how music affects the emotional state. I know a lot of readers are into metal, and though I could never personally get into it (at least not since I was a teenager), I can see that it does give off positive vibes. The problem with both metal and punk – the classic Nazi soundtrack – is that it is so dated and doesn’t really fit the modern milieu.

At this point, I pretty much believe the only music that is healthy to listen to is electronic music. Or, I guess if you’re into classical that’s okay, but most people aren’t – and like I say, a lot of that is also overly emotional and somber.

Sometimes I wonder if Hitler would have listened to less Wagner if he would have been a bit more brutal in slaughtering his enemies and thus won the war. He was already an emotional artist type, and that music couldn’t have helped.

Maybe if Kavinsky had been around in the 30s, we would have won that stupid war.

What would have happened if Hitler had been listing to that during the battle of Dunkirk?

Anyway.

I’m just making the point here – White people did folk better than the kikes.

Yeah, I mean. He wasn’t the worst Jew ever as Jews go, he just wasn’t particularly talented and was promoted because he was a Jew.

The same is basically true of Bob Dylan, though he was a better song writer than Cohen.

Cohen had a couple okay songs, have to give him that.

First We Take Manhattan could actually be read as anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi. That’s sort of how I always heard it.

He gave some pretty crazy comments on the meaning of the song.

I’m not sure of what it means right now because I had this long voyage from Chicago. I think it means exactly what it says. It is a terrorist song. I think it’s a response to terrorism. There’s something about terrorism that I’ve always admired. The fact that there are no alibis or no compromises. That position is always very attractive. I don’t like it when it’s manifested on the physical plane – I don’t really enjoy the terrorist activities – buy Psychic Terrorism. I remember there was a great poem by Irving Layton that I once read, I’ll give you a paraphrase of it. I don’t think any of this was purposeful, but he is a somewhat interesting Jew. More so than I give him credit for in this article. But he’s no Stanly Kubric. Or Franz Kafka.
