These five Black savages brutally attacked a young White man, by smashing a bottle over his head and beating him with an iron bar.

A Central Business District resident is recovering after being brutally beaten by a group of people. NOPD detectives are trying to track down the perpetrators.

In the meantime, a neighbor who saw the attack happen remains shocked.

“The man was yelling, ‘What’s happening, What’s happening,'” said a Central Business District resident who was walking home from the store last Sunday morning when he stumbled across a man being beaten. Eyewitness News is not identifying him, for safety concerns.

The NOPD confirms an aggravated battery happened just after midnight in the 800 block of Gravier Street.

“He attacked him from the back. He hit him in the back of the head. He fell on the ground and didn’t move. I saw blood on the ground,” said the neighbor.

According to the NOPD, the victim’s girlfriend says the couple had a verbal argument with a group on Bourbon Street before the attack and were followed back to the CBD.

A woman named Linda claiming to be the victim’s mom called into the WWL Radio Tommy Tucker Show on Friday, saying her son had been waiting for his girlfriend when he was approached by five people.

The attack happened in the central business district of New Orleans.

“A liquor bottle was broken over his head, a beer bottle. Some kind of metal rod was used to smash his head,” said Linda, adding her son spent three days inside University Hospital’s ICU and has undergone surgery.

“He had a fractured right frontal lobe that resulted in a brain hemorrhage that has fortunately since subsided, a fractured right eye socket, two fractured sinuses,” said Linda over the radio.

Linda claims police aren’t doing enough.

But on Friday, the NOPD released images of two women and three men wanted for questioning in the aggravated battery. Businesses with surveillance cameras in the area also confirm they’re assisting detectives.

It’s an investigation that one witness hopes gets solved soon. “This is scary. Now I’m feeling unsafe around here,” said the neighbor.

If you recognize any of the people in the surveillance video or can help solve this case call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
