Police are investigating a six-vehicle crash on SB Interstate 71 at Deerfield Road in Sycamore Township.
Dispatch said multiple 911 calls were received and a WLWT staffer reported seeing a naked man running on the highway.
“A black man is running bare butt naked,” said one caller.
Witnesses said a naked man was driving a truck down the left shoulder, hitting cars as he went. Investigators said witnesses told them he was traveling 80 miles an hour.
Investigators have identified the suspect as Tracy Martin, 44, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He’s accused of driving his pickup truck on the left shoulder of southbound I-71 at a high rate of speed, side-swiping four vehicles, and rear-ending a fifth vehicle.
Investigators say he eventually struck the concrete median wall, overturned, and then struck a sixth vehicle.
Barry Hollock’s car was the first of the cars to be hit.
“Then (he) started banging his way up through the other cars. It was unbelievable,” Hollock said.
Next, the car Amy Cryder was riding in was clipped.
“He was flying. He was flying. He was a blur when he went by,” Cryder said.
