Lyn Yarbrough says on Facebook “PLEASE say prayers for this young lady, She was a guest at my wedding and she was in Charleston this weekend, she was putting her car in the shop and was trying to hail a cab when a car with three black men pulled up next to her and started yelling obscenities at her she tried to ignore them and they got out and beat her severely and tried to get her into their car. She is ICU with both cheeks crushed and bleeding in the back of her brain! BYSTANDERS just watched, no one offered to help her! She did nothing to deserve this!!”
Charleston police say a woman suffered injuries to her head and face after a man threw to her the ground and stole her purse on King Street this weekend.
Witnesses told police the 30-year-old woman was being chased by a man just before 6 p.m. Sunday near King and Maple streets when he grabbed her, threw her to the asphalt and then snatched her purse, according to an incident report.
Michael Eugene Nickens has been charged with strong armed robbery and is already on parole for grand larceny.
The man was last seen heading north on King Street.
